Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi

Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp
The adventure begins with a drive to the Umbwe Gate. After registration, the trek starts with a steep ascent through the dense rainforest. The narrow trail winds through lush vegetation, offering glimpses of the rich flora and fauna. After several hours of challenging trekking, you will reach Umbwe Cave Camp at 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) for your first night on the mountain.
Day 2: Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp
On the second day, the trail continues to ascend steeply as you leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone. The path offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and Mount Kilimanjaro. After about 4-5 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Barranco Camp at 3,900 meters (12,800 feet). This camp is set in a picturesque valley, surrounded by steep cliffs and the iconic Barranco Wall.
Day 3: Barranco Camp Acclimatization
Day three is dedicated to acclimatization at Barranco Camp. You will spend the day hiking around the camp, taking short treks to higher elevations and returning to camp to rest. This process helps your body adjust to the altitude, increasing your chances of reaching the summit.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit and Back to Mweka Camp
Summit day starts around midnight with a challenging ascent to Stella Point on the crater rim. From there, you will continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet). After celebrating your achievement, you will descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp at 3,110 meters (10,204 feet). This long day of trekking covers both the ascent and descent, making it the most demanding day of the journey.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
The final day involves a descent through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. This 3-4 hour hike is a chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings one last time. At the gate, you will receive your summit certificates and be transferred back to Moshi. After a well-deserved rest, you will be taken to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure.
