Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Here, you’ll have a briefing and preparation session for your climb, ensuring you have all the necessary gear and information for your adventure.
Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp
Your trek begins with a drive to Umbwe Gate, where you start your climb through the lush rainforest. The trail is steep and challenging, leading you through a dense canopy of towering trees. After several hours of trekking, you will reach Umbwe Cave Camp at 2,850 meters (9,350 feet), where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp
The second day involves a steep climb out of the forest and into the moorland zone. The trail offers stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s southern glaciers and the vast Barranco Valley. After about 4-6 hours of hiking, you will arrive at Barranco Camp at 3,900 meters (12,800 feet).
Day 3: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
On day three, you will tackle the famous Barranco Wall, a steep rock face that requires some scrambling. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Karanga Valley. After descending into the valley and climbing back up, you will reach Karanga Camp at 4,035 meters (13,235 feet).
Day 4: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
The fourth day involves a trek across the alpine desert to Barafu Camp. The trail is relatively flat but the altitude makes it challenging. After 4-5 hours, you will arrive at Barafu Camp at 4,640 meters (15,223 feet), where you will rest and prepare for the summit attempt.
Day 5: Barafu Camp to Summit and Back to Mweka Camp

After celebrating your achievement, you will descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp at 3,110 meters (10,204 feet).
Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
The final day involves a descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. This 3-4 hour hike offers a chance to enjoy the lush scenery one last time. At the gate, you will receive your summit certificate and be transferred back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
Day 7: Departure Day
